I have no opinion on the women-men thing, although it is much more likely that 
if a guy pays in front of a date, it will be better than otherwise expected ;)

It's sad that you have the expectation and acceptance that tips == service. 
Sad that that's the way it is - not about your accurate observation.

The good 'tenders here have reached the higher level of being where that is 
not the case. Many posts, starting with Cheryls most recent will bear that out.

As a rabid anti-compulsary-tipper I get angry when I hear tales of how someone 
would intentionally stiff a bad tipper in whatever way. Not to much of that on 
this board, but in other forums etc.

As for your plight, I dunno if it can be applied to 'women in general' after 
all, you say it is bars you become a regular at. At this point it is YOU as an 
individual they are serving badly.

Which makes me wonder in a similar vein - Do 'tenders treat regulars with less 
service.

Personally I would admit I do! Not deliberately badly or anything, and not to 
say I'm not doing my best to treat everyone as well as possible, but at the 
point that two customers approach the bar at the same instant, I will trust 
that the regular will wait his turn, and start with the guest.
Regulars get other perks etc, but I am simply less 'servile' with them.
