Sifting through this monster thread:  I think what amazes me most is the 
simple lack of respect.
Lack of respect to the fine profession of serving.
Lack of respect to a customer that is the whole reason you have your job
   -- to take care of them and serve them a meal and drink.
Lack of respect for a differing opinion.
Lack of respect to the fellow person working within the same profession.
Lack of respect for maintaining decorum.
Which now prompts the following Disclaimer:  This is not meant to throw a 
stone at anyone or anything in particular.  Just a thought, and merely a 
thought on this thread.
This is a sad shift of recent trends in this forum which I felt was a mecca 
of information.
