What people Dan?  Lynn?  I dont think she ever said anything to the effect of 
hating anyone.  It is distinctly my understanding it is the judging another 
person by the job they have to make a living.

Jealousy.  Which is why it is forbidden discussion to stay employed at the 
restaurant I work at.  One server or bartender is always whining about money 
or not making any money and we, the managers, do our best to eliminate it by 
stating that nowhere in the restaurant or parking lot, or while in uniform, is 
appropriate to discuss tips.  (specifics)  As, with the customers, they can 
hear it and then they get offended and don't return or feel like they should 
tip someone that obviously earns a great living (and maybe more than they make 
for a living).  And there I am telling them I'm sorry for their bad experience 
with my staff and giving away free gift certificates to hope that customer 
returns again.
