i think what needs to be bought out is a book which has lots of ideas.
Ideas and reasons. Mixology shouldnt be about experience, it should be about
learning how to make a perfectly balanced cocktail, with the right amount of
everything in. learning what compliments one spirit and how best to get the
flavours out of certain spirits. Also the ideas behind classics like the
mojito could be explained. If you understand why the mojito and others work so
well you will then be able to apply it to your own cocktails when thinking
about ingredients.
The closest to this i've found was a book, i cant remember the name of, but it
basicly went through 6 classic cocktails, mojito, daquiri, martini etc, then
suggested variations on it, it was a good read and i read it in about half a
day.
