The best approach to this is to take it upon yourself  ...

If you want to put a tiny dig in, ask "Why do you drink yours shaken?" ... as 
he is probably not too familiar with it at all (if he's ever even tasted one). 
This will be enough to let him bluff through it ... but could well prompt him 
to actually pick up a book on his own to check it up ;-P
