It is funny what you say at the end, as it reminded me of the time when I was 
making a Woodford Reserve Old-Fashioned for a guy I hadn't seen in a year or 
so. I was so wrapped up in the conversation that I missed a few steps in the 
process of making the drink. After I finished squeezing the orange twist into 
the drink I tasted it, and I then pronounced it "fantastic". It was only then 
that I realised that I didn't put any sugar or bitters into the drink. 
Basically it was Woodford Reserve on ice with an Orange Twist. Very Tasty.

I too feel that quite a lot of the main cocktail "arguments" are completely 
pointless. It is nice to see that other people notice this too.
