Nice story.
I won't argue against it giving the impression of giving that extra attention 
to detail that can really pay off. And it can become a part of the barmans 
dance or even [Dan the Melon Man] The Zen of bartending - Part 1

Like all flair (small-f flair) it becomes part of your repetiore depending on 
the style you're going for. I like my moves smooth & sweeping, with a bit of 
exaggeration and a hint of effortlessness.
If I were a waiter, I'd be the one brandishing the two-foot pepper-mill.

The meticulous attention to detail, the delicate movements, and having just 
the right tool to do just the right job... Nah, not me unless I was also 
exaggerating it ;)
