Now then, I'm gonna make one final reply to this thread in an attempt to try 
and clear things up, then hopefully it, and we, can all be put to bed 
together.

Yup, in retrospect, I have to agree and apologise unreservedly for any 
offence I may have caused. At the time of writing I was feeling rather maudlin 
at the prospect of of potentially hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians 
being massacred, and took this out on what I perceived to be the propagation 
of cultural stereotypes which is one of the causes of so much suffering around 
the world, and potentially more. I apologise for the force of my statement, 
and firmly stand by its message.

WHAT? Find, deconstruct, prove, establish, or show any semiotic link 
between the use of expletives and the depths of one's character. In one pithy 
epithet, you've just damned Chaucer, Shakespeare, Dante, Frost, Bunyon, Joyce, 
Rimbaud, Baudelaire and just about any author worth their salt, all of whom 
used "bad language" as a linguistic device to convey emotional extremes. (and, 
no, I'm not comparing myself to any of the above).

Tenuous point, given the electoral fiasco which lead to Bush's appointment. 
And as a free-thinking, sentient, informed human being, I have the right and 
honour to challenge any act or belief I so desire, whether perpetrated by my 
country's leader or not. I am lucky to live in a modern democracy where your 
notion of obsequious serfdom no longer exists. There's faith, and there's 
blind faith.

This is a very silly statement. I refuse to be dehumanised, and will kick 
against the reduction of me to the role of mechanised automaton. I am a 
bartender. I also have a brain. Sometimes that brain fires weird charges along 
its wee synapses, and opinions form. If someone asks for these, I will share 
them. I really don't think I'm alone in this.
