This subject was brought up tonight at work so I thought I'd get some feedback.

There was a British group. And one person was ordering the drinks. Now, I know 
from experience that when I hear a British accent to always ask something 
like, "Did you just want the one drink or did you need more?" because they 
will order one drink at a time pecking you to death with single drink orders. 
So, tonight when I heard the accent I instinctively asked my question. The 
other bartender and one patron at the bar asked me afterwards how I knew to 
get the whole order out of them from the start. I had to tell them that it had 
been my experience to do so. No real reason. Just because.  Just as when they 
ask for a lemonade I know they mean 7up. Or when they say whiskey they mean 
scotch.

Now, we got to talking about it and one person at the bar thinks that maybe 
it's just the way they do things over there. Maybe it's considered rude in 
their country to ask for more than one thing at a time. Does anyone have any 
input on this?
