Relevance quote? I don't have anything clever like that. :) What I was getting 
at was that the whole bruising the gin thing was stolen from an older argument 
about bruising the mint in mint juleps, and that the fact that nobody seemed 
to notice that "bruising the gin" was complete gibberish (it's a *liquid*, for 
Pete's sake) sort of suggests that they never really understood the mechanics 
of any of these arguments in the first place, and that they were just 
repeating what someone had told them without really getting any of it. 

The context was that a lot of people don't really "get" juleps, and that's the 
reason they're so particular about them on the rare rare rare occasions they 
have a notion to drink one. So in a fit of big-headedness I wrote a post 
trying to explain them, and here we are. :)
