This has been the perennial problem in production circles... outside of us the
afficionados how do you make a 30minute show (24mins really) on cocktails and
drinking actually interesting and engaging for your average viewer?
It's great to hear of show's like this cropping up and to know the idea is
slowly gaining momentum.
My friends already have 2 series on Discovery Travel & Living called The
Cocktail Kings which combines travel and drinking to keep the viewer
entertained for a full half hour.
So far I have only managed a couple of appearances on BBC1's Saturday Kitchen
doing Christmas Cocktails and Grand National Cocktails in Spring.

The hardest part I've found so far is that most people who watch won't have
the specialist tools we use every day and so you have to convert to using
household kitchen items (eg: I told my viewers to use an egg cup as a jigger
as most are between 25-35ml to measure their drinks).

My question is, how would you envisage a full cocktail show being formatted?
Locations? Themes? Topics? Items?

and to Alton Brown - keep up the good work.
