Wrigleys!!! Funnily enough I have found a lot of adverts from the 1800s, which
feature Mint Julip and Mint Smash Gum.

Bourbon and Mint Gum! Oh, yeah!!!

Also, it seems that Irwin S. Cobb was the winner of a Mint Julep challenge in
1933, a contest which he had with Eddie from the Astor. Most amusing quotes
regarding the judge of the contest, the guy drank 3 of Irwin's Kentucky Juleps
and 3 of Eddie's "International" Juleps and then had to lie down for an hour.
After his nap the Judge apparently went to his typewriter to begin an essay on
attractive women, and then remembered the Julep contest, which he then awarded
to Irwin. Eddie had the "cheek" to make his Juleps with Brandy and a dash of
Dark Rum (shock horror!!!)

Is it in Irwin's book that he has the famous "scorpions in a baby's bed"
remark?

Cheers!

George
