OK, if that's what you really wanted I'd try to talk you out of it, for 
reasons other than that it's not on my list.
My first impressions of a request like that would be that someone wanted a 
LIIT, but didn't want to get totally hammered on it too quick. Maybe they are 
thirsty or just being somewhat more responsible. Actually, I don't think it 
would throw the drink off too much, I serve them in hurricanes that aren't 
much smaller volume, and I'd be able to pack the ice a lot better in a pint 
:-) . The aesthetic of the glass was the first thing I thought of when you 
asked!
I personally respect the LIIT, but would not get picky about it being a real 
or classic cocktail.
The definition of when a mixed drink becomes a cocktail however is a good 
discussion, many folk have interesting views, from the purist right down to 
the most ignorant customer.

We all can get a bit heated up when slammed and something throws you off your 
stride, but this is one of those jobs you can leave it at work with. There's 
another customer ready 30 seconds after this one, so just start afresh. Or 
take a quick walk into the chiller. The walls are quite soft for banging your 
head against, no-one can hear you scream, and you come out nicely refreshed!
