Not being critical of your preference for margs at all but you might want to
try 3:2:1 sometime (using silver 100% agave tequila and Cointreau), the extra
triple sec gives you the sweetness that you need to balance the lime juice
without any sugar being added.
I use a dash of simple syrup in the margs we make at work because it's the
standard recipe we're supposed to use. It's a good drink and I can justify it
since we're using more lime juice than what I would use in the classic
cocktail mentioned above. Most people aren't ready for a 'rita like that,
ours are purer than most.
Just the other day I heard a guy at the bar commenting on how small our
margaritas were (in a 12 oz. collins glass). I told him that it's the real
thing, the places with the 32 oz. Big Gulp size 'ritas are just drowning that
same shot of tequila in sour mix. Do you want Gatorade spiked with tequila or
do you want a cocktail.
