I send out resumes to all relevent work places i would be interested in 
working for. I then usually follow up in person a few days later. 
I have found some managers will sit you right down there and have an informal 
interview which leads to more opportunities. 
Be persistant and remember you can always learn something no matter how much 
you think you know.
Be positive, you will have many more knockbacks than offers.
