Hi all. I've been lurking for a while, thanks for all the great posts and 
replies. I have a question maybe someone can help me with. I'm a "newbie" 
bartender, fresh out of bartending school and have a question. Who would you 
ask for when seeking employment at certain places??? For instance:

1. Applying for a job at a hotel (like Hilton, Marriott)? Do they have an HR 
department at each hotel or just ask for a manager? or bar manager?

2. An "exclusive" type yacht club. Do you just call and ask them if they're 
hiring?

3. What about a club with late hours? Say 7-2pm? (I know at restaurants it's 
best to go around 2-4pm, the slow time). Is it best to go to a club at 7 and 
just ask for a manager?

4. Do you ask the working bartender if they're hiring? 

5. Do all restaurants want you to work as a server before moving onto 
bartending? (this has been what i've found out).

I don't know if it makes a difference, but I live in a large city (Houston)...

Any and all information about getting that first job would be greatly 
appreciated. Thanks in advance!
