Up here in Manitoba we accept Driver's Liscence, Gun Registration Cards, 
International Passports, Indian Status Card and I believe Military Cards, 
however it's acceptable for a bartender to turn you away if they feel reason 
to (any reason) however the catch with you is you could probably nail them on 
the fact that they tried to peel apart your ID, I was at a club once where the 
cops showed up and took a bouncer away because he did such a thing (broke a 
legal ID) it's tampering and very illegal (apperently because it's a 
government form), I'd complain to the establishment on the basis that the 
bartender was being rude and attempted to ruin the ID, plus here you could 
simply report the place for even letting you in the doors.
