Alright, time to go through today's Painfully Stupid Question...

I've never quite understood what recipes like limoncello or certain bitters 
recipes mean when they call for 'grain alcohol'. I get a mental picture in my 
head of a guy called Bubba and his best mate Earl sitting on the side of a 
road with a jug of moonshine for 10cents a glass. 


Could someone explain to me what it is?
