Yes, more sugar than lime is very unbalanced. I think that Dick Bradsell 
misintepreted David Embury's instructions.

1/2 teaspoon equals about 3ml of gomme.

Somehow Dick is putting 3 teaspoons worth into one Daiquiri.

Curious.
