I agree with the probably best not to fake it crew here.

To super- I wouldn't reccomend completely faking it.  It might be 
dissapointing.  Try getting into the industry at least for a little while 
(bussing, serving, hosting, anything really), so you can at least understand 
the dynamics of what really goes on.  I started out as a hostess, then a 
busser, then a server, then a bar back, and finally a tender.  Hell, at one 
point I even worked as a pastry chef!  It's beneficial for you to know the ins 
and outs of not only YOUR job (bartender), but the whole she-bang.
