Bartending is 10% drink recipes, although it seems that 99% of the wannabe
bartenders think it's 99% recipes. If you had any restaurant or bar experience
at all - be it even as a bus boy, you'd be much better prepared than you are
now. Car sales is probably as unrelated to bartending as being a dump truck
driver, it's an entirely different skill set.

Anyways, here's some of the core skills a bartender needs, and drink recipes
isn't one of them:

1) Being able to handle extremely high pressure situations without blowing
your lid. You'll have an endless stream of tickets, bar guests that need
attending to, servers needing change, a keg that just blew and the phone
ringing simultaneously.

2) Proper pouring and beverage production techniques (applies to beer, liquor
and wine)

3) Proper server techniques - steps of service, etc

4) Cash handling/POS/Till skills

5) Stocking/Prepping/Changing Kegs, Soda & Juice boxes, etc

You won't be able to fake any one of these...........
