Subject: Sweet drinks not very popular?

I am noticing that a lot of people do NOT like sweet drinks.

In a typical night, we make goo gobs of Long Island Iced Teas, Texas Teas and
Purple Rains...... we also do a lot of Strawberry Daiquiri, Strawberry
Margaritas, Margaritas and a few Bahama Mamas (it's a featured drink)

As a bartender, I try to recommend new drinks to people. I think that MOST
people, when they come in to a place like mine (a restaurant with a bar, not a
bar that serves food), they don't have a lot of drinking experience. Either
they are early 20's, and have heard of the Long Island, so they ask for it,
or else they used to alwasy drink a Vodka Tonic, what else am I supposed to
get?

We also have a few liquers that are just sitting there, and I have some
recipes that I think they could try....

but MOST folx, it seems, don't care for sweet drinks.

I have had a number of people enjoy the 'Piece of Ass' (Amaretto, Southern
Comfort and Sour Mix) and a few liked the 'Naked Twister' (Midori, Tuaca,
Vodka, Pineapple Juice and 7 Up), but it's not very often that we get to make
a Mai Tai, or a Rum Runner, or anything else with much flavor.

I've been working at this one spot for more than a month and have not made ONE
Sloe Gin Fizz! That's a sissy drink (as in, for those that are scared to get
drunk), but I don't get many to request it. I also have made not ONE 'Sex on
the Beach' and it's summertime!

(I could push that, but I'm trying to push the Tuaca)

Has any one else noticed the same? Is this a good thing that people are not
drinking the fruity drinks?

Does any one care but me????
