The way it's set up at my bar is I have a comp or "house tab" allowance of 
usually a $100.  This is used at my discrection, normally for our large number 
of regulars or where I feel someone really deserves a free drink.  i.e.  large 
purchases, excellent tipping, or just maybe a few fruity shots to get some 
ladies off to a good start.  heh heh
