Ok thanks for all the feedback. The 1 recipe about muddling the cherry (the
one referred to as the "traditional" manhattan where they say to muddle the
cherry) came from my bartender school book (I know, please no lectures, thats
why I'm here asking the pros)...the other recipe they had in the book was 2 oz
whiskey, 6-8 drops of sweet vermouth, no mention of bitters, stir and strain
into a martini glass and garnish with the cherry. So I think I'm going to up
the sw vermouth a bit and try it that way, with the bitters added. I don't
like manhattans, so am relying on others suggestions, so thanks for the
recipes.
Virgil, I'm just working thru catering services and staffing companies right
now, just to get a little experience. I'm going to Maine to work next summer
at my son's pub during the busy season. Weren't you looking for a job, any
luck?
