Most people that would order a manhattan will tell you how they like it. If
not, I would use the receipt 1/4 oz sweet vermouth and 1 1/2 oz whiskey or
bourban and garnish with a cherry. It would normally be served on the rocks,
but you always wanna ask the customer if they would like it straight up or on
the rocks. Also, don't forget to upsale your whiskey/ bourban to something
that might please their taste a bit better, which will not only make the drink
taste better, but will also cost more and thus, generate a bigger tip for you
(hopefully). However, its not so much the reciept you use as it is in the
presentation of the drink you serve. When you do serve the drink, tell them
that its going to be the best manhattan they have ever had. Don't ever ask if
the drink is good or not, it only makes you sound like you don't know what
your doing. If they don't like the drink, they will tell you; and if that
should happen, they will tell you how they want their manhattan made. Best
wishes to you.
