The school I went to had a "99% placement rate advertised" somehow after my 
year the placement rate dropped to 75% and kept dropping...

Don't get me wrong, I learned a hell of alot from school and had a great time, 
from what I learned I was one of the few students who got a job in the 
industry.

When your starting out yes, you more or less have to be willing to take 
anything, just to get experience or a recomendation.

I'm gonna be honest TOTALLY ive been in this game for over 2 yrs, no contacts 
or owners that I know, during my time ive honestly send out over 200 resumes 
in either person, fax or email and it took alot of time more or less just to 
get rejected. Clubs are constantly getting resumes and Im in no way trying to 
be harsh, but as a newbie what chance do you have? And no im not trying to be 
a downer, im being honest here. Occasionally some bars have nights to go and 
apply, usually with a lineup around the block of people who want jobs, even 
with experience landing a job is difficult, the key is persistance, follow up 
interviews applications etc... DONT GIVE UP YOU'LL GET SOMETHING, MAY NOT BE 
GREAT BUT SOMETHING...

I think alot of it depends on where your looking too, I live in a very small 
city with really only a few CLUBS owned by more or less the same company, yes 
there's alot of restaurants BUT THE BAR INDUSTRY IS VERY COMPETATIVE WHERE I 
LIVE , so take my advice with a grain of salt.
