I really enjoy the class I'm taking now, and I'm learning a LOT about 
bartending but I'm starting to get the impression that I just blew $500 
learning how to mix drinks.

The school cites a 90% job placement rate, but I'm concerned these are all 
barback positions. Just about any bar I go to has had the same bartenders for 
months if not years; this seems to be a low turnover position and I'm 
concerned that I might see a banquet or two worth's of work but after 
that....I'm screwed.

I'm learning the drinks quickly and pouring accurately, moreso than any of my 
"classmates". I'm comfortable striking up conversation with strangers and I'm 
a decent looking guy, I think i'd be a very good bartender but I'm just 
wondering if I'll ever get the chance since I don't personally know any 
bartenders or bar owners in the area.
