I played around with this both with, and without the sugar syrup. With both
the lime juice and the cranberry juice, in order to get the flavors of both of
these to balance out against each other, as well as not make the drink sour, I
felt it was necessary to boost up the sweetness. Adding enough Cointreau for
this made that flavor too predominant, and so adding simple syrup seemed to
add just the right approach. This same recipe is also good without the simple
syrup, but it will be definately more "tart" in flavor.

I also feel that this cocktail is not intended to be a "dry" cocktail, but
something just a shade on the sweet side. Which is what I feel I've achieved
in this particular recipe.
