You have a damn good point there.
You are well within your rights to lodge a formal complaint with the
authorities. I'll second the objection if you want.
You need to write a letter to the international cocktail committee. Those are
the guys are in charge of going around to each bar and checking that the menus
and drinks conform to both regulation recipes and community standards. After
all, it would be unthinkable if different bars served drinks with the same
name but different ingredients. Or even worse if they listed a regulation
cocktail and chose some other non-standard (possibly lewd) name for it.
In some states the enforcement officers even have the authority to raid
private parties where more than three different liquors are made available for
consumption - After all, there are plenty of times some frat boy will mix
Sambucca with everclear and gatorade and name it a "shit-kicking nigger" or
something equally offensive. As you know, the use of profanity is illegal in
licenced establishments worldwide, so some people attempt to use these pseudo
cocktail names in an attempt to avoid prosecution.
Of course, the Webtender Site is not and cannot be involved in censorship of
this sort at all. The cocktail names you may see here (or here
http://cocktails.about.com/library/recipes/blxrated.htm ) are not the
responsibility of the site owners, but of the persons that created those names
in the first place. If you are aware of anyone originating such a name, please
report them immediately to the committee.
Note: the International Bartenders Association in NOT related to these
enforcement tasks at all, so don't get them mixed up.
Good luck, but you may want to consider installing some protection software
such as cyberSitter or netNanny on your machine to prevent you coming across
lewd content in the future. Webtender content is rated 18+ in many parts of
the world http://www.webtender.com/info/contentfilter.html (Access can even be
restricted just using Internet Explorer)
