I really don't "know" what other mixers there are that would be easy to make 
at home so I wasn't shooting for one particular genre.

I was amazed at how easy simple syrup was to make.

Being new to cocktails I thought I'd have to buy simple syrup, sour mix, etc. 
and am pleased to know that I don't have to.
I was just asking if there were any other 2-3 ingredient recipes that would 
stop me from having to buy that mixer from a store.
