I'm one of the mad ones that has chosen happiness.
I'm continually avoiding getting pulled back into the computer development 
world where I was making easily 6x more per hour, it was easier work (for me) 
and also quite a good atmosphere.
I just happen to want to be working with people in a bar atmosphere at this 
point in my life. As I have on several other occasions. 

We have different priorities at different times, and I am lucky enough to have 
the option of dropping back into a well-paying career when I need the cash 
again, but as of the now, I'm loving the energy and satisfaction I get from 
doing this job well. For me bar work is a vocation, not a pay packet. But I 
realise this attitude is only tenable because I've experienced other options 
and serious pay packets.

I also quite like it when certain customers try to impress me by telling me 
how much money they make. So far I've had them all beat by a factor of 3 and 
could do it again next week ;-) . But I enjoy keeping it quiet. 
I am broke again this year, but still in no hurry to get out of the bar.
