Definately give the palm spin a miss, this is gauranteed to soak you, the bar, 
the customers, and more than likely your boss as he he comes to find out if 
any of you know about stock problems with some of your spirits :p The 
"Gunslinger" as you call it is much better for keeping the liquor where it 
should be and i agree is often good to use in working flair when first picking 
up a bottle.

One of my favourites (if i can describe this in words) is to pull a bottle 
straight up quickly from the speed rail releasing it so it almost hangs for a 
second mid air.  Quickly turn your hand upside down (so your thumb and 
forefinger are at the bottom) and regrip the neck of the bottle.  Turn your 
hand back over (thumb and fore finger back at the top) so the bottle is upside 
down and pour then continue to turn your hand in the same direction to return 
the bottle to upright (you can just grip with your thumb here with your palm 
facing up.), this leaves your arm in a bit of an un-natural position but only 
for a sec.  Now quickly drop the bottle and roll your hand down through 360 
degrees to catch it round the base, thumb down, palm out.  Now turn your hand 
to replace the bottle.  Quite basic if you can understand it by desription 
only but fast and can impress the punters without spilling a drop.

You sure about this? The hole lets air in as the liquor goes out giving a 
smooth flow, if you cover the hole the flow is slowed as air has to get in the 
same way the liquor gets out. I cover the air hole with a finger when layering 
shooters to slow it down.
