And don't forget the drains!

We had several hoses coming from the spill trays that would wind down and
empty into the floor drain. So far so good.
After an unspecified period of time, they seemed to back up a little, and not
drain so good.
One day I got the thought to direct a blast of post-mix into the top, in case
there was some kind of blockage...

After a bit of spray, and wedging the nozzle into the hole etc (somewhat
unsanitary I figured out later) I produced a
3 METER long, 3 cm THICK SNAKE OF YEAST SLIME oozing out the far end!
This was so solid I could pick it up as wave it at the other tenders (it was
clean-up time, customers were gone - just as well.

Anyway, it figures that the drain pipe is even more susceptible to tainted
growths, and what with the warmth from the back of the fridges, and the
contaminated, high-sugar diet, it flourished.

So yes, cleaning the drains that way got added to the list of weekly duties.
IF you have never done this, what you may uncover the first time will shock
you.

.dan.
