What drinks you have to know depends on where you are working at, but you
should have the basics down, all the highballs, LIITs, margaritas ect ect,
just the basics and try to expand your knowledge from there. People might not
notice if you forget to add rum to their LIIT, but if somebody asks for a gin
martini and you throw sloe gin in there, your cover is blown. To be dead
honest, they are going to tell that you don't have experience. I know you
probably have all the confidence in the world that you will be able to walk in
there and lie your way through, but it is much harder than you think. I'm not
trying to discourage you, I think that if you want something you should go for
it, but it is going to be hard.
