For groups that order peacemeal when it's slammed (or even when it's steady), 
I pick a "leader" and ask them to get all their friends drinks together and 
I'll be right back--also ask them to get their money ready.  even if the 
leader doesn't remember all the drinks when you get back, at least everyone's 
decided and not mumbling and bullshitting.  Not only does it save time right 
then, but they know how to order for the rest of the night.
