So is there any chance of an Original Recipe for either of the two Pina
Coladas?

"The Pina Colada you uncovered in your NYT database search is a libation made
with "the juice of a perfectly ripe pineapple—a delicioius drink in
itself—rapidly shaken up with ice, sugar, lime and Bacardi sum in delicate
proportions." (Remember: Pina Colada translates to "strained pineapple.")

The reference comes from the December *1922* issue of TRAVEL magazine."

Cheers!
