Well spoken! Contests about cocktails are not for serious bartenders. A
contest is about making those simple drinks which would sell very well for the
mass who like maraschino syrup (which is actually almond flavoured) in their
whiskey (manhattans).
The general recipe for a winning cocktail is...
50 ml of the sponsored liquor. Fill up to 70 ml (or another maximum allowed
spirit volume) with some kind of obscure spirit which nowbody uses and sounds
original. Add some flavoured syrups or other sweet things which go well with
the obscure spirit. Add a bit of fresh fruit so you are able to tell that your
syruped sponsored liquor is actually a fresh fruit containing drink.
Back to reality... this drink doesn't have to be very sweet if those syrups
are homemade and if the pineapple is sour enough. How is the pineapple
processed? The recipe just says 'shake all ingredients'.
