From what I've seen, there's not a whole lot of options when it comes to a US 
citizen (especially male) working in paradise. Two options are cruise ships 
and huge resorts (like club med). Other than that, buying or renting your own 
little place may be an option, and in many cases, can be affordable. I met a 
guy down in southern mexico that rented a little palapa beach bar - literally 
50 feet from the water for $300 a month. He wasn't really rolling in the 
dough, but he did get by.

Most of the countries you listed don't really have economies to speak of, 
tourism is about it, and unemployment is generally high. The last thing they 
want to see is a foreigner taking one of their jobs.
