True 'nuff.
My head was sort of buzzing with rants about the difference between giving
people that are in there a good time - and actually getting people in there.
Which is your current problem.
The difference (as Q says) between a short-term fix and a real strategy.
The 'competition' as you stated it sounded so short-term I found myself
thinking of the 'cheat' - which of course solves nothing.
You could be the best place in town, but if nobody is coming through the
door, they are never going to find out.
Word of mouth & reputation will help you through times of no cheap drinks
better than cheap drinks will help you through times of obscurity. :-/
Um yeh.
Without a LOT more info, I don't think we'll be able to give you a quick fix.
Possibly time to get creative with some guerilla marketing or publicity
stunts.
- Start rumours that celebrity X has hired the place for a private party, then
deny all knowlege of it.
- Say the place is being used as a research station for new social-engineering
techniques with hidden cameras everywhere.
- Or that it's full of cameras for a new reality TV show. You are all of
course sworn to secrecy so you can neither confirm or deny any of this.
... etc
... All BS, short-term stunts, but you might be able to have fun with it.
