  I have responded to you in the past. I live and manage a bar and restuarant 
in st thomas. sorry no openings here. what you are asking is possible 
somewhat. 
  1. finding a job while still in ny is not always so easy 
  2. finding a job with benifits is even harder. 
 Your best possibilty is the ritz hotel which you can find online to contact 
but make a note they are closed till dec for renovations. then you have the 
marriot or the westin on st john that may give you benifits. there is always 
duffys love shack which you can apply with them online but they will want you 
to audition for the job if they accept you application.
  who ever said just go with 5000 in your pocket was pretty much right on but 
I would do it soon right now it is dead here but season will be kicking in 
nov/dec. most positions will be filled for a while big turnover here. alot of 
people can not handle the island ways here and leave after 3 months or find 
different work like on boats. A GREAT starting point and very helpful web site 
to help with info is www.vinow.com go to the message boards and then go to the 
relocation board read all the posts or as many as you can it will answer 
almost of your questions without even having to ask any !!! feel free to email
