Thanks alot for the advice, I am a little apprehensive to go and drink at the
bars I am trying to get a job at though. Could be because once I sit down for
a 'couple drinks' it usually turns into much more, but the main reason is I've
also been trying to get jobs at bars that are sort of out of my league as far
as being a regular customer goes - the $10 martini bars with ferraris and such
lined up at the valet parking.
I'm getting a positive response from the managers when I go in trying to sell
myself to them (I can present myself well), but I am beginning to think they
are just being polite and it's more who you know or that 2 years bartending
experience simply just does not cut it at these types of places.
I sure would like to hear some more info from others that have managed to land
jobs at high-end type of bars, and how you go about 'bugging' the managers at
these places to see if there is an opening.
