i've yet to come across a 'standard recipe' for this drink. ive seen all sorts 
of measurement variations from 4:1 to 1:1 ratios. personally, i'm more 
favourable to 

50ml scotch
20ml drambuie

although i love drambuie, it can be a bit too sweet or heavy for most people. 
IMHO a 1:1 ratio would mask off the selling point of many a whisky. i guess 
therefore even in a 5:2, i tend to go for balanced blends or the softer malts. 

this is just my personal preference and im sure along with more knowledge, you 
possess a more mature pallete. 

nothing in particular i'd say is a firm favourite.
 
p.s. just been on the aberlour website, no mention of the 14y.o.
