In my years of slinging hooch I have heard my share of bar myths: (1)
jagermeister contains deer blood, (and / or) cocaine, heroin, and others; (2)
"pure" alcohol, especially Skyy, will not give you a hangover; (3) "serveral"
workers at Corona in Mexico have "disappeared" - presumably somehow fallen
into the fermentation vats; (4) bock beer is leftover beer "sludge" from the
bottom of the tanks; and a host of others. However, I am still baffled by the
myths surrounding Red Bull, perpetuated by many younger drinkers who when
confronted by hard facts look at me as if I was assaulting Mother, Apple Pie,
and the flag. Its buzz comes from caffeine, sugar and the dubious effects of
synthetic taurine. I have seen no reliable reports that it is any more
dangerous than pounding strong Ice Tea and Citron. (I have been known to
overpay for nice single-malt scotches and wines, so I will not comment on
whether or not I think paying high prices for Red Bull is a good idea or not.
If you enjoy something, you are not being ripped off in my opinion.)

I have had senior citizens have the same reactions as drinking RB from
drinking too many brandy and coffees.
