I've been a bartender and a bar back. If you ask me, barbacking is much harder 
and demanding work than bartending. We had to haul kegs across the bar. Carry 
100LB tubs of ice, and then clean the bar floor as the bartenders counted 
their tips. You're basically a bar bitch. But, every bartender who is anybody, 
whether it be in a restaurant or in a bar has had to pay their dues in some 
way. In the restaurant, you pay your dues by being a good server for usually 
several months. In the bar you pay your dues by busting your ass, toughing it 
out, and showing them that you're committed and loyal.
