Stolichnaya is not really a brand, but a type of vodka. All distilleries in 
Russia are allowed to distil it. Same goes with Polish vodka. Any newly 
developed brands are distillery specific.

As for the Stoli Gold/ Stoli Cristal thing. There was a vodka called plainly 
"Cristal" and than won the right to be called Cristal, so Stoli had to 
re-brand to Stoli Gold.
