If you're not in a place that makes them fresh then I would just use whatever 
sweet and sour mix you have.  Gin + S&S mix + soda is common in the US, I 
don't really think it's worth it to have a separate product on hand just to 
make this one drink.  I've said the same before about margarita mixes as well, 
they're almost indistingushable from sweet and sour.
