As a bartender, I also felt the desire to get my creations recognized. I
always told people about this or that and made sure to tell people how to make
them so that the drink was "out there". I submitted a few of my more original
drinks and the storys behind their creation to magazines and bar/restaurants
that would use them on their menus or publications.
Even now, as a bar manager, I still get comments from past customers about
some of my unusual on the spot creations and requests for an original every so
often.
I feel I succeeded in my goal to get recognized. While some of the drinks
have faded into the past, the reputation I built for myself as a "mixologist"
has stood the test of time.
You dont need a patent when you get that kind of recognition.
