I've heard 86'ed used in a variety of similar contexts. In my little corner of 
the world, it's not commonly used, but most people know what it means.

Anyone remember the computer trivia games You Don't Know Jack from the mid 
90s? In one of them, just before the game went from a window to fullscreen 
mode, they said "86 the desktop"
