Yes, its a pub. A rock pub to be exact. It doesn't have cocktails, or anyother
spirits but those on the optics. Crisps for food. But it has been sold, and
will be closing in 3 weeks.

FUCK THE BOZOS!!!
Now that the word is out you should all know about the closure of The Intrepid
Fox. It has been on the cards for quite a while that the pub may be up for a
change but I don't think we knew how much of a change or how soon it was going
to be. Personally I'm absolutely gutted that not only this can happen to what
I consider the best fucking pub in the world, but that my good friend can just
be robbed of something thats been his home that he has lived, breathed and
poured his heart & soul into for the past 17 years. And that my friends are
left without jobs or guaranteed security. And all they give them is 3 fucking
weeks. 3 fucking weeks to pack up all the gear and memories and then leave.
Maybe the people and the pub itself has grown to mean a lot more to me over
time, but I refuse to believe that any of you can not say that for one reason
or another you don't have good memories from this place. That you haven't met
someone important to you now there, celebrated special occasions or just
basically had a really good fucking time on 99 wardour street.
I personally have met some of my closest friends here...have celebrated
birthdays...have dj'd for as long as I can fucking remember and learned a
fucking lot from people..and also been the most wasted I have ever been among
the best people around. And I can't believe that it's actually happening to
what has become a second home to many of us.
So taking a heads up from Sophi
"We are trying everything we can to stop this happening, including trying to
get it listed as it has been a pub for 250 years, but as they waited until the
contracts had been signed before telling us because they knew we'd put up a
fight our hopes are not exactly high.
Please please please write a letter of anger and complaint to our head office
(the ones that sold it) and tell them what you think! I don't need to tell you
about the history of that place - it's an institution in the rock music scene!
We are in the process of preparing a petition which will be doing the rounds
as soon as it is ready.
The address HO is:
The Director
Mitchells & Butlers
27 Fleet Street
Birmingham
B3 1JP
Please if you want to complain do it TODAY. I know how easy it is for everyone
to get up in arms but never get round to doing anything about it. My friend is
being thrown out of his home and I don't think that's right.
And I urge you to do this IMMEDIATELY we don't know how much of an effect any
of our actions will have. But I totally and utterly refuse to allow this to
happen and them not to know the amount of anger it builds in the people who
give a FUCK about this scene and about us having a place to go. Places like
the Fox are all we have left in a dying scene and one of the only place to
still hold ideals that should be important to us. No backstabbing, No
bitchiness, No fucking bullshit. Dont let them get away with this.
<end of quote>
With the London Astoria (a place where hendrix, aerosmith have played) also
closing to make wat for shops there will be nowhere to listen/ watch rock
music anymore in central London (specifically soho).
If only rockers weren't such miserly shits, they could make their market a
lucrative market to cater for.
Most rockers are too tight to pay 5 pounds entry to a club for 4-5 hours of
deejays/ securitys, and then still expect pub prices.
Boohoo!
