 You must begin every party with 3 questions before you 
can make any decisions.
1. What or whom is this party for?
2. Approximately how people will be invited?
3. What is your budget?
Number 1 tells you what to serve
Number 2 tells you the amount you need to buy
Number 3 tells you the quality of what you get to buy

Once you decide on the cocktails you will serve then you write down all the 
ingredients to those drinks.
Now, here's the tricky part.--you can never never ever determine what guests 
will drink so its impossible to do exact math. You have to guess. All you can 
go by is that a 750ml (fifth) bottle will getcha 20-25 shots depending on your 
pour. A liter will have 30-35. You also have to guesstimate how many cocktails 
each person will have. The length of the party will help you with that #. Now, 
all you have left is the # of people expected. This # changes until the very 
end because you have to look at your RSVP list.

So, to recap:
•fifth: 20-25 shots
•liter: 30-35 shots
•Guests expected
•Cocktails per person guesstimate based on length of party
•Guess on what they will drink

You mentioned that were 350 people invited. Will you have bartenders? Do you 
want it self serve? I highly recommend having 2 specialty drinks that can be 
mass produced then provide beer and wine. 

I can provide more helpful hints if you can give me more details. Details like 
the type of party?, average age group?, is dinner included?, will there be 
bartenders?, is it self service?, etc.
